Dr. Samantha Roughton
Dr. Samantha Roughton grew up in Tampa, FL and has always loved and wanted to help animals. She pursued this passion by attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in animal science. She then practiced as a veterinary technician for a few years before graduating from the University of Florida with her doctorate degree in veterinary medicine with a focus in shelter and small animal medicine.
Though Dr. Roughton's love for veterinary medicine started in shelter medicine and preventing pet overpopulation, she found she could do the most good for her community in small animal general practice. She has been working in the Tampa area for several years as a small animal general practice veterinarian and is passionate about teaching owners the importance of preventative care, such as vaccination, flea and heartworm prevention, and spay/neuter surgery. She also loves performing soft tissue surgery, including spays, neuters, and dentals.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Roughton is a movie buff and can often be found at the movie theater. She also loves kayaking with her husband and going to the beach with her family. She is always excited to travel as well, especially when she can bring her Frenchie, Lieutenant Meatball, and her Pit Bull mix, Zeus.
